I have a degree in Electronics with Computing and Maths from University of Reading (UoR) and have remained in engineering and computing.  In 2016 I undertook a year long course at MIT in digital fabrication and creative design as part of the FabLab movement.  I still code and develop computing projects.

Professionally I am a Chartered Engineer CENG, Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET)

CENG  Chartered Engineers are degree qualified and have gained the highest level of professional competencies through training and monitored professional practice experience. This is a peer reviewed process.  

FBCS  is conferred to individuals to recognise their outstanding achievements and contributions to Information Technology. 

FIET is the highest grade of membership and only awarded to those who have sustained high levels of achievement, for several years.

Book 1 (2001) "Open Gardens" was about Open Source and Commons becoming critically important for the future of innovation.   


Book 2 (2006) "Mobile Web 2.0" a year ahead of the iPhone launch and was the predictor of mobile data, apps and app stores.


Book 3  (2009) "My Digital Footprint - where your privacy becomes someone else's business model" which everyone now understands.


Book 4 (2021) "Digital Good" (multi-author) on the future of Banking and Financial Services with Chris Skinner


Book 5 (2022) "QTA" The Right Questions to Ask for a Board/Director (multi-author) on Governance with 44 other leading global governance experts.  I wrote to Data and IT governance. (this is free at www.qta.world) 


My new book (6) "Decision Making in Uncertain TimesHow can we become more aware of the consequences of our actions on tomorrow?
